Secret NYC 101: Unnamed rooftop in Financial District
One of the things that makes NYC attractive, is the fact that, hidden in this old city, there are tons and tons of interesting secret spots.
Have you watched the movie "The Good Guy" ? There was a scene at the beginning where this Wall Street banker guy walked his date into a hidden spot. He rented out that spot just to amaze his date, and of course he would be rewarded by his date accordingly :P
I myself have discovered a number of secret spots. Being able to find these spots makes me feel so nice - feel like that spot actually belongs to me.
In this post I want to brag about this roof top in Financial District. It's free, and I am not looking to be rewarded :P
Technically only residents of this building have access to the rooftop, but if you luck out, you could go to the top and enjoy the entire view of the Financial District, the Brooklyn Bridge included.
I myself tried to access this rooftop twice - 1 success and 1 fail.
First, upon entering the building, just go straight to the highest floor. If I remember correctly, it was the 48th floor.
You will see an elevator that takes you to the rooftop.
After getting out of the elevator to the open space, you can see the Brooklyn Bridge right away!
I heard about this place from my roommate - thanks JoJo :)
This place is great for parties. Lots of patio couches.
Conveniently, this place was just a couple blocks from my office. I could actually see my office building from here.
You can also see the One World Trade Center from here:
That's it guys! See you at the next secret spot!
